Field Hockey Prepares for Three-Game Series

The Michigan State field hockey team has a busy week ahead as they prepare for three contests. First up is a midweek game at Central Michigan on Wednesday, Sept. 21st. The Spartans then travel to Iowa for their conference opener against No. 13 Iowa on Friday, Sept. 23rd. The Spartans return back to East Lansing on Sunday, Sept. 25th, to host their first home match of the season against Kent State.

Michigan State staged a second-half rally – to post a 3-2, come-from-behind victory over host Providence on Sunday afternoon. Abby Barker had a pair of goals for MSU, which is now 3-5 on the season.

Michelle Roberts had an early goal and Axelle Wouters scored the first two goals of her career as No. 13 Michigan defeated No. 14 Boston University, 3-1, to cap a perfect 4-0 homestand.

Field Hockey Drops 4-1 Decision to Maine

The Michigan State field hockey team (2-5) dropped its match to Maine by a 4-1 decision. Senior back Angie Lucik scored the lone goal for the Spartans in the loss. Redshirt sophomore goaltender Molly Cassidy ended the contest with a total of six saves.
Mack Nets Hat Trick, U-M Stifles Ball State for Third Straight Shutout Win

Rachael Mack recorded a hat trick, the second straight three-goal game by a Wolverine, and the U-M defense held Ball State without a shot as the Maize and Blue picked up its third straight 5-0 win.
