McFarlane and VanDoorne Capture Jeff Drenth Crowns
The Michigan State cross country team opened its 2011 season on Friday, Sept. 2 in Mount Pleasant, Mich., with the Jeff Drenth Memorial hosted by Central Michigan. The Spartans saw a pair of individuals capture the individual 5k crowns in both the men’s and women’s races.

Cross Country Opens Season With Annual Jeff Drenth Memorial
The Michigan State cross country team opens its 2011 campaign on Friday, Sept. 2 at the Jeff Drenth Memorial hosted by Central Michigan. Action in Mount Pleasant, Mich., is scheduled to start at 11:20 a.m. with the men’s 5k followed by the women’s 5k at 12:05 p.m.

Cross Country Announces 2011 Schedule
Michigan State director of cross country and track & field Walt Drenth announced today (Aug. 10) the Spartans’ 2011 schedule. The Spartans feature four races within the state of Michigan, including their annual Spartan Invitational on Friday, Sept. 16 at Forest Akers East Golf Course.

Cross Country Now Accepting 2011 Spartan Invitational Entries
Entries are now being accepted for the 31st Annual Spartan Cross Country Invitational to be held on Friday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m. ET on the campus of Michigan State University. Racing will begin with the college men’s 8k, followed by the college women’s 6k at Forest Akers East Golf Course.
