Spartans Fall in Heartbreaker, 1-0

The Spartan men’s soccer team was on the rough end of a tough 1-0 loss to No. 22 Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon at DeMartin Stadium. The Spartans, now 1-5-1 overall, will look ahead to Big Ten play next weekend.

U-M Falls to Marquette in Final Seconds of Second Overtime

Adam Shaw’s first career goal at 10:36 gave U-M the initial lead, but Marquette tied the contest at 72:36 and netted the game-winner with 51 seconds left in a 2-1 final.

No. 9 Indiana Takes 2-0 Win at Rutgers

Goals from Blake Wise and A.J. Corrado were all the ninth-ranked Indiana men’s soccer team needed to remain unbeaten on the season with a 2-0 victory at Rutgers Sunday afternoon at Yurcak Field.

No. 9 Indiana, No. 14 St. John’s Play to 0-0 Tie

For the second time this year the Indiana men’s soccer team held a top-15 team scoreless but the Hoosiers were also unable to find the back of the net in a 0-0 double overtime scoreless tie at No. 14 St. John’s Friday night at Belson Stadium in Queens, N.Y.

Spartans Tie at Marquette, 1-1

Freshman Fatai Alashe’s first collegiate goal came at an opportune time for the Spartans, as his late marker forged a 1-1 deadlock with Marquette on the road on Friday night. The game was the first in the weekend’s Big Ten-BIG EAST Challenge. The Spartans and Golden Eagles each have identical 1-4-1 records on the season.

Michigan Defeated in Overtime at No. 22 Notre Dame

Latif Alashe scored 39 seconds into the game, but No. 22 Notre Dame tied the score at 32:57 and netted the golden goal a minute into the first overtime period to hand U-M a 2-1 defeat.
