Vavra Fourth in 400 IM at USA Swimming Nationals

Senior Allysa Vavra finished fourth in the 400-meter individual medley and junior Ashley Specht won her consolation final of the 100-meter breaststroke on day 3 of the ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships at the Stanford University Avery Aquatic Center in Palo Alto Calif.

Gordon and Phelan Advance to Finals

University of Iowa men’s swimmers Paul Gordon and Ryan Phelan advanced to the finals at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships being held at Stanford University’s Avery Aquatic Center Thursday. Gordon placed 26th in the 100 fly, while Phelan finished 28th in the 50 free.

Swimming & Diving Releases 2011-12 Schedule

Head coach Matt Gianiodis has released the 2011-12 schedule for the Michigan State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. The schedule features the team’s first home outdoor meet for the men since 1991 and the women since 1997 when it hosts Cleveland State and Oakland on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.

Paul Gordon advanced to the finals in the 200 free to place 26th at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships being held at Stanford University’s Avery Aquatic Center. Four other members of the University of Iowa swimming and diving program competed Wednesday.

Lentz Earns Olympic Trial Cut

Tyler Lentz earned a 2012 Olympic Trial cut time in the 400 IM at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships being held at Stanford University’s Avery Aquatic Center. Three other members of the University of Iowa swimming and diving program competed this morning.

Hawkeyes Set for ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships

Ten members of the University of Iowa swimming and diving program will compete at the 2011 ConocoPhillips National Championships on Aug. 2-6 in Stanford, Calif. The competition will be held at Stanford’s Avery Aquatics Center.

Hawkeyes Earn Academic Accolades

The University of Iowa men and women’s swimming and diving teams have earned national academic awards. The Hawkeye women’s team was named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division I Academic All-America team for spring 2011 and members of both the men’s and women’s squads earned individual honors.

Team, 11 Individuals Receive CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

The 2010-11 men’s swimming and diving team, along with 11 student-athletes, received Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
