Junior Caroline Powers has been named the Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Thursday. Powers won her second career tournament by shooting a 1-over 217 (71-71-75) at last weekend’s Mary Fossum Invitational held at Forest Akers West on the MSU campus.

The No. 19 Michigan State women’s golf team won their lone home tournament of the season, the Mary Fossum Invitational, Sunday afternoon at Forest Akers West. The Spartans won the event by 15 strokes over second-place Ohio State. Individually, Caroline Powers claimed medalist honors for the second time in her career as she carded a 1-over 217.
