Hawkeyes Move Up Leaderboard on Final Day

The University of Iowa women’s golf team fired its first sub-300 round of the season and moved four spots up the leaderboard during the final round of the Dick McGuire Invitational on Monday. The Hawkeyes carded a 298 (+6) to finish in 12th at the 6,187 yard, par 73 UNM Championship Course. Iowa entered the third round in 16th place. The Hawkeyes ended the 54-hole tournament with a 915 (306-311-298, +39). Baylor won the tournament title after posting an 887 (294-298-295, +11).

Hawkeyes 16th After 36-Holes

The University of Iowa women’s golf team carded a 617 (306-311, +33) during the first two rounds of the Dick McGuire Invitational on Sunday. The Hawkeyes enter Monday’s final round in 16th place. Northwestern leads the 18-team field after firing a 586 (290-296, +4). The 54-hole tournament is being host by the University of New Mexico at the 6,187 yard, par 73 UNM Championship Course.

Hawkeyes to Compete at Menzel’s Alma Mater

The University of Iowa women’s golf team will hit the links at the Dick McGuire Invitational on Sept. 25-26. The University of New Mexico will host the 54-hole tournament at the 6,187 yard, par 73 UNM Championship Course. Sunday’s 36-holes and Monday’s 18-holes will begin with 9 a.m. (CT) shotgun starts. Live scoring will be provided at Golfstat.com

Caroline Powers Named Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week

Junior Caroline Powers has been named the Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Thursday. Powers won her second career tournament by shooting a 1-over 217 (71-71-75) at last weekend’s Mary Fossum Invitational held at Forest Akers West on the MSU campus.

Women’s Golf Wins Fossum Invitational, Powers Claims Medalist Honors

The No. 19 Michigan State women’s golf team won their lone home tournament of the season, the Mary Fossum Invitational, Sunday afternoon at Forest Akers West. The Spartans won the event by 15 strokes over second-place Ohio State. Individually, Caroline Powers claimed medalist honors for the second time in her career as she carded a 1-over 217.

Women’s Golf Leads Fossum Invitational After Two Rounds

The Michigan State women’s golf team leads the Fossum Invitational by 20 shots over Ohio State after two rounds of play on Saturday at Forest Akers West Golf Course on the MSU campus. The Spartans carded an 8-over 584 (286-298), while Ohio State is at 28-over 604 (299-305).
