#3 Illini Breeze by Badgers with Sweep in Madison

Volleyball Silences Hoosiers With 3-1 Win

The Michigan State volleyball team (12-2, 1-1 Big Ten) posted its first win of conference play with a 3-1 (15-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-18) victory over Indiana (8-6, 0-2 Big Ten) on Saturday, Sept. 24 in Bloomington, Ind. The win snapped MSU’s road losing streak against Indiana as it tallied its first win over the Hoosiers on the road since Oct. 12, 2007. Senior Kyndra Abron paced the team with 15 kills on the night.

Purdue Hands Wolverines First Loss of 2011

The 18th-ranked Wolverines held set points in the first two sets but fell in three (26-24, 26-24, 25-15) at No. 13 Purdue for their first loss of the season.

Iowa Falls to No. 5 Penn State, 3-0

The University of Iowa volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 5 Penn State Saturday evening inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Senior Tiffany Nilges led the Hawkeyes putting down 10 kills. Sophomore Nikki Dailey dished out 29 assists and sophomore Bethany Yeager recorded 16 digs.

Spartans Knock of the Hoosiers in Four

Indiana Volleyball (8-6, 0-2) fell to Michigan State (12-2, 1-1) in four sets (25-15, 14-25, 15-25, 18-25). The Hoosiers came out firing, taking the first set with ease, hitting .778 in the first frame. The Spartans got the momentum in the second set and didn’t let it go.
